FysKamStudent Council FYS
The Student Council FYS takes care of everything that has to do with studying physics at university level, in other words study monitoring.
Here you can discuss the education, the structure of the programmes, the environment in and around the university and anything else that
has to do with our studies. Through the Student Council us physics students have the ability to affect the university's decision in matters
that involve us. Representatives from the Student Council sit in different councils, boards and committees in Uppsala University and
UTN and it's these that gives us the power to influence.
The Student Council President in addition also often know how different things are connected and who to talk with in different situations,
so if you have any problems or thoughts regarding your life as a physics student you are very welcome to contact the Student Council President.
The Student Council Physics as it's own standalone student council got started in 1999, before this the physics had a shared student council
with mathematics/computer science. Discussions about reunifying the student councils started in 2001 but in the end it was instead decided
to unify the Student Council Physics with FysKam. This lasted until 2007 when it was once more decided to reinstate the student council,
with it's own board and yearly meetings but with close collaboration with FysKam, this time under the name Student Council NVF.
These days the administrative aspects are ran solely by the Student Council President with help from remaining FysKam board members when needed.
Every grade on the Bachelor's Programme elects one representative, and the Master's Programmes in Physics, Material Science and
Computational Science elects two representatives. These are elected at the Student Council meeting at the start of the autumn term.

The Student Council President is responsible for study monitoring for FYS students and leads the Student Council by for instance hosting at least two Student Council meetings per term.

Study Social Manager
The Study Social Manager is responsible for questions regarding student life and study environment, and for arranging study-related events such as Plubbs. Together with the Student Council President, the Study Social Manager makes sure that FYS students have a good study environment.

Student Council meeting
For the Student Council to work properly it's very important that as many physics students as possible join in and engage. It is our study time it concerns! Our meetings are held once per period and are open for everyone that studies physics! At every meeting there's free fika!
